John E. "Big John" Bellis

Canandaigua, NY June 12, 1953 – June 1, 2026 Age 72

Canandaigua – John E. “Big John” Bellis, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, with his family by his side.

He is survived by four brothers, David “Red” Bellis, Jerry (Janene) Bellis, Randy Bellis, and Wayne (Lisa) Bellis; and nieces and nephews.

John was born in Canandaigua and was the son of A. Edwin and Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Bellis. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1972. John was a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the US Navy from 1972 to 1976. He worked as a cook most of his life. John enjoyed going to casinos and spending time with family and friends.

Services are private. Interment with military honors will be in Pine Bank Cemetery, Cheshire.
