Jo-An Hagin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Ithaca, NY on June 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on October 15, 1950, in Munich, Germany, Jo-An was 75 years old at the time of her passing. Raised in Milwaukee, WI, Jo-An moved to Ithaca, NY where she shared a life filled with love and devotion with her husband, Robert C. Hagin, to whom she was married for 56 wonderful years.

She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love through her surviving family: her son Timothy J. Hagin and his wife Suzanne R. Hagin, her daughter Cherie L. Rogers and her husband David F. Rogers, her son Nathan C. Hagin, and her treasured grandchildren Mathew D. Rogers, Timothy M. Rogers, and Adalyn M. Hagin, along with her cherished granddog Bella.

Jo-An was preceded in death by her father, Edward T. Gleason, her mother, Dolores Wilson, her sister, Geri Meadows, and brother, David Gleason.

Throughout her life, Jo-An exemplified a strong but sensitive spirit, characterized by her feisty and witty personality. She was a woman of deep faith and humility, never seeking the spotlight, always preferring to shine it on others. Her love for her family was paramount, and she found joy in simple pleasures such as bowling, solving puzzles, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley. Her favorite color, red, symbolized the vibrant energy she brought into the lives of those around her.

Professionally, Jo-An contributed her talents to the Cornell University Registrar's Office and NYSEG's accounting office. She was a diligent worker who valued integrity and dedication in all her endeavors. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life, as she supported multiple charities dear to her heart.

A devoted Catholic, Jo-An's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Her family finds solace in knowing she is at peace, embraced by the love and grace of God.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM at Perkins Funeral Home (55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY 13053). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10 AM, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Jo-An's life and cherish the memories she has left behind. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca.

Jo-An Hagin will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she shared with everyone fortunate enough to have known her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Jo-An's honor, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping others. May she rest in eternal peace.
