Jay "Daniel" Faus
Jay "Daniel" Faus, aged 71 years and 21 days, of West River Rd. in Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026. Born in Lebanon, PA, on June 29th, 1955, he was the son of the late Abram and Florence (Martin) Faus. He was currently a member of the Rose Hill Mennonite Church in Fayette, NY.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 26th, from 1:00-3:00 PM and 3:30-6:00 PM at the Finger Lakes Fellowship Center, 3403 State Route 414, Seneca Falls, NY, and also on Monday, July 27th from 10:00 AM-12:00 NOON at Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, 134 Center Rd., Mount Pleasant Mills, PA. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27th at 2:00 PM at Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, with burial at the church cemetery. Please, no floral offerings.
Daniel is survived by his current wife, Lorraine (Martin) Faus, who he married on August 11th, 2018; sons, Jay Mahlon and Rhonda Faus of Sunbury, PA, Melvin R. and Malinda Faus of Richfield, PA, William G. and Julie Faus of Sunbury, PA, Warren L. and Crystal Faus of McClure, PA, Lloyd A. Faus of Sunbury, PA; daughters, Carrie L. Faus of Sunbury, PA, and Cathy L. Faus of Sunbury, PA; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-children, Andrew L. and Anita Martin of Savannah, NY, Cheryl A. and Doren Martin of Weedsport, NY, Dawn M. and Vernon Horning of Wolcott, NY, Keith L. and Joyce Martin of Waterloo, NY, Brendon H. and Jolene Martin of Minneapolis, MN, Jeffrey H. and Karla Martin of Paducah, TX, Lorene F. and Joshua Horst of Mansville, NY, Cynthia H. and Matthew Zimmerman of Stanley, NY; forty-one step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brothers, Allen and Carol Faus of Rock Stream, NY, John and Mary Faus of Reading, PA; sisters, Grace and Donald Hollinger of Myerstown, PA, Esther and Willis Mast of Dundee, NY, Beth and Vernon Mast of Herman, MT, Rose and Nate Overholt of Russellville, KY; brother-in-law, Nelson Martin of Newmanstown, PA.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his first wife, Gladys Halteman Faus, whom he married on October 11, 1975, and who passed on May 6th, 2014; sister, Elaine Martin; and brother-in-law, Ken Mast.
For most of his life, Daniel lived and worked on the family farm in Sunbury, PA, before relocating to Waterloo, NY.
