J. Edwin L. Garrigan Sr.

J. Edwin L. Garrigan Sr., 83, of Weedsport passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital.

Mr. Garrigan was born in Auburn, NY, on April 1, 1943, to the late Leo Garrigan and Dorothy MacDonald Hilderbrandt. For many years, Ed was employed with Clark Concrete Company in Syracuse as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Ed was a hard worker with an unwavering work ethic. Providing for his family was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments. He was always willing to help anyone in need at any time.

Ed loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and admiring the wildlife. He enjoyed rolling dice and playing cards. His favorite times were the ones spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his children, J. Edwin L. Garrigan Jr. (Tammy), Goldie Garrigan (Thomas Lees), and Michael Smith; his grandchildren, Jordan Shoemaker, J. Edwin L. Garrigan III, Thomas Lees Jr., Blake Arthur Garrigan, Mikaylee Smith, and Madelynn Smith; his great-grandchildren, Summer, Chance, and one more on the way; his siblings, Duane Hilderbrandt (Darci), Daniel Hilderbrandt (Joann), Dawn Townsend (Randy), Deborah Behm (Josh); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Audrey Garrigan, in 2018; and his siblings, Nancy Cook, William Garrigan, and James Garrigan.
