Irmtraud Elisabeth Socci

Canandaigua - Irmtraud Elisabeth Socci, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family.

Irmtraud was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, to Josephine and Ludwig Beck. She completed her advanced education in business. On May 1, 1957, Irmtraud married Thomas G. Socci in Wiesbaden, Germany, and returned to Auburn, New York, where they raised four children. Her greatest joy was her family as she provided a loving and caring environment in their Catholic upbringing.

Irmtraud was the consummate mother and wife who loved to spend time in nature with her family in the mountains or at the lake. She was also a voracious reader with an infinite desire to always keep learning, a passion that was passed on to her from her mother, Josephine.

Irmtraud is survived by two sons, Eric Socci and Ted Socci; daughter-in-law, Marnie Socci; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Dominic) Ricci, Thomas (Anhelica) Socci, Jr., and Matt Socci; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Gabby Ricci. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas G. Socci; daughter, Krista E. Socci; and son, Thomas J. Socci.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 26, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Private interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Golisano Children’s Hospital, 300 E. River Rd, PO Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
