Penn Yan: Gertrude E. Blim, age 97, formerly of Dundee, NY, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at The Homestead in Penn Yan, N.Y. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday (Sept. 20) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Semans officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Dept., 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837, or Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital Memorial Fund, 418 N. Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.

Gertrude was born February 28, 1916, in South Dansville, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Mahus Leiter. She has lived locally since 1942, previously of Howard, NY. She was a retired seamstress, having been employed by the former Michael Stearns Clothing of Penn Yan, NY. Mrs. Blim was a former member of the Crystal Valley Grange and the Dundee Order of The Eastern Star; she enjoyed crochet and loved to cook.

She is loved and will be dearly missed by her daughter Phyllis M. (Cornue) Westfall of Dundee; a brother John (Arda) Leiter of Hilton, NY; three sisters Lillian Levee of Rochester, Helen (Clyde) Selbig of Haines City, FL, and Linda Patterson of Largo, FL; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous stepchildren, including a special stepson Robert Blim of Auburn, NY; and countless nieces and nephews.
