Cortland, NY May 3, 1934 – March 1, 2020 Age 85

Geraldine M. Diamond, 85, of Cortland, NY, passed away Sunday, March 1st, 2020, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 3, 1934, in Cortland, the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Thurston Plattner. Graduated from Marathon Central School and Central City Business Institute, Syracuse, Gerry worked as a secretary at the Homer High School Guidance Department for 19 years.

She was predeceased by her brothers: John, Ernest, and Paul Plattner. Survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Roger; sister Barbara Frost of Marathon; daughter: Catherine (Leonard) Warren; three sons, Paul (Barclay), Gregory (Linda), Stephen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gerry was loved by all who knew her. She loved to knit and crochet and made many beautiful things for family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Homer First United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, March 5, 2020, in Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY, with Rev. Park officiating. Friends may call from 9-11 am prior to the service. Spring burial will be in Parker Street Cemetery, Lapeer. Donations may be made to Homer First United Methodist Church.
