Dundee: Franklin A. Moore, age 85, of Dundee, NY, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday (June 16) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday (June 17) at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 312 Liberty Street, Penn Yan, with Father Leo Reinhardt officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Central School Sports Boosters, P.O. Box 53, Dundee, NY 14837.

Franklin was born on October 13, 1928, in Montour Falls, NY, the son of the late James and Edith Van Sciver Moore. On July 26, 1952, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bradford, NY, he married the former Josephine A. Dlugosh, who passed away on October 17, 2010.

Mr. Moore started working for Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport in 1948 and retired as Plant Manager in 1994. He was a lifelong local resident, wintering in Florida since 1994. Frank was a member of the former St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Dundee and the First Lutheran Church in Inverness, FL. On January 28, 2012, in Inverness, FL, he married the former Barbara Etchills Pinkston.

He is survived by his wife of 2 years, Barbara Pinkston-Moore, at home; 3 sons, James F. (Nancy) Moore of Clifton Springs, NY, Robert J. (Shelly) Moore of Dundee, and Charles A. (Beth) Moore of Columbia, SC; 2 daughters, Susan M. Glover of Lapel, IN, and Sally J. Moore of Dundee; 5 grandchildren, David Glover, Blaine, Alysen, Daniel, and Samantha Moore; a sister, Betty Lou (Floyd) Miller of Watkins Glen; his wife Barbara's 3 children, Robert Pinkston, Jr., Elizabeth (Billy Blackwolf) Costales and their 5 children, Rachel, Sarah, Katie, Taino, and Maya, and Babette (Anthony "Chico") Hodge and their son Alec, all of Springfield, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Eaton, in 2010.
