Donald J. Alverson

Donald J. “Poncho” Alverson, age 93 of Wayland, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Poncho was born on April 26, 1933, in Dansville to the late Carlton and Margaret (Ritchie) Alverson. He worked hard his entire life as a carpenter and helped many family members and friends with his skills.

Poncho loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in the outdoors. He also loved playing pull tabs and seeing his friends at the American Legion Post 402. Poncho will be remembered as being a good husband and a good friend and will be missed by all his family and friends.

Per Poncho’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
