Carolyn D. 'Florence' Cunningham

Canandaigua: Carolyn D. 'Florence' Cunningham, age 81, of Canandaigua, formerly of Dundee, NY, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Ontario County Health Care Facility, Canandaigua, NY. Carolyn was born December 1, 1931, in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest and Marian Wheat Dalglish. In September of 1959, in Manhattan, NY, she married the late Robert Price Cunningham, who passed away on January 7, 1977. 'Florence,' as she was known by her friends, had lived locally since 1995, previously of Santa Monica, California, where she was employed by Colgate-Palmolive of Los Angeles, CA, as a Public Relations Specialist. She retired in 1990.

Mrs. Cunningham was of the Unitarian Universalistic faith. Her pacifist, peace-loving beliefs, and her prayers and dreams of World Peace were so strong that even in death, she desired to help her fellow man by donating herself to science. She is loved and will be missed by her two sons, Jed J.J. Cunningham of Port Angeles, Washington, and Mark H. Cunningham and his daughter Pryce Marie Cunningham, both of Dundee; a brother, James Harrison (Marivic) Dalglish; and a niece, Marianna Dalglish, both of the United Arab Emirates; and several cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by a sister, Sara Tulczyjew, of Monte Calvo, Italy, on March 24, 2013.

Honoring her wishes, there were no prior calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
