Dundee: Betty Ann Raabe, age 81, of Dundee, NY, passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday (Feb. 15) at the Faith Baptist Church, 13 Harpending Ave., Dundee, where her funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Lawrence and Pastor David Semans officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, at the convenience of the family in the spring.

Even though her favorite flowers were yellow, the family prefers memorial donations to the Faith Baptist Church, 13 Harpending Ave., Dundee, NY 14837.

Betty was born October 7, 1932, in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Edmund J. and Mary Ann Bogart. On December 4, 1955, in N. Y. City, she married Ralph Raabe. They worked side by side as owners of Pioneer Trailer Moving of Horseheads, NY. Summering on Starkey Point since 1972, they moved from Horseheads to Dundee permanently in 1994. A former very active member of the First Baptist Church in Horseheads, she became a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Dundee, where she continued to be active in many ways, including teaching Sunday School. Outside of her immediate family, her church family and its Pastors were her greatest joys in life. When she had spare time, Betty enjoyed all kinds of crafts, but especially collecting rubber stamps and creating her own greeting cards.

She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Raabe, at home; 2 daughters, Robin Ann (Phillip) Hubbard of Horseheads and Roxann (Mark) Clute of Cohoes, NY; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edmund John Bogart of Elmira Heights and Gordon King of Phoenix, AZ; a niece; 2 nephews; and countless friends. She was pre-deceased by a son, Ralph "Butch" Raabe Jr., in 1961 at the age of 5.
