Bertrand Salmirs, aged 95, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at Hospicare in Ithaca, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 13th, at 2:00 PM at Wisdom's Goldenrod, 5801 NY-414, Hector, NY 14841.

He was born February 28, 1930, in Bronx, NYC, to Adolph and Mary Salmirs. A resident of Hector, NY, since 1965, he was a public school music teacher and was known as the leader of the 'Bert Sal Trio.' He was a piano performance graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, and while music was his livelihood, his main interest in life was studying the perennial philosophies at Wisdom's Goldenrod, Center for Philosophic Studies in Valois, NY, under the guidance of Anthony Damiani.

He is survived by his son, Michael Salmirs (cat Nabi), daughter, Deborah Salmirs (Didier Serciat), brother, Stanley Salmirs (Eileen), former daughter-in-law, Roberta Crawford, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Teruko Salmirs, and his parents.
