Audrey Schramm

Audrey M. Schramm, age 96, longtime summer resident of Wyers Point and winter resident of Lakeland, FL, died in Florida on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Audrey was born in Ithaca on April 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Claude and Clara (nee Parish) Cassidy. She was an Ovid High School graduate and attended Brockport State College before marrying William Schramm on November 11, 1950. She began a long career as a counselor for the Norris Clinic at Rochester Psychiatric Center. Following their retirement, they moved from Fairport to Lakeland, FL, and the family cottage at Wyers Point on Cayuga Lakes. Audrey was a member of the North Lakeland Presbyterian Church and Sandpiper Golf Club.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Riolo of Greece, NY; several nieces and great nieces, nephews and great nephews. A very special acknowledgement to her friend and neighbor, Blenda East of Florida, that facilitated Audrey's ability to remain active for many years and assisted with her daily routine.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bill, in 2019, and by her son, Jeffrey, in 2024, and by her brother, Ross, in 2013.

A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to Edith B. Ford Library in Ovid.
