Andrew M. Walsh

Liverpool, NY July 20, 1972 – June 4, 2026 Age 53

Andrew M. Walsh, 53, formerly of Owasco, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home in Liverpool. Born in Auburn on July 20, 1972, he was the son of Marcia Lotridge Walsh and the late Michael Walsh. Andrew was a graduate of Auburn High School, Cayuga Community College, and SUNY Potsdam and was employed by Onondaga County as a Senior Chemist of Water Environment Protection.

Andrew's greatest joy was being a father. He was proud of his daughter Rita and spoke about her to every ear he could bend. Rita cherishes memories of laughing together over Looney Tunes cartoons, watching and rewatching Midnight Madness, playing board games, and sharing corn dogs at Magic Kingdom. In addition to fatherhood, Andrew was a devoted fan of classic entertainment, including ALF, The Three Stooges, Clue, old-time radio programs, and just about any novelty food he could find. A lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, he once grew out his facial hair to complete an Obi-Wan Kenobi costume. He adored his cats and took special pride in giving them clever and memorable names: Fang!, USA, Rochester Copperpot, Little Harold Ginny Weasley VonHagar, and Macho Cat Randy Savage.

Andrew could often be found immersed in comic books, hunting for action figures, building LEGO sets, or watching 1980s professional wrestling. He delighted in sharing his interests with family and friends, bringing humor and joy to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew him can take comfort in imagining him at peace - stylin' and profilin', with one final "Woooo!".

In addition to his mother Marcia, Andrew is survived by his daughter Rita; brother Peter Walsh (Laura); brother-in-law Paul Underhill; Rita's mother, Lisa Walsh; two nieces; one nephew; and two great nieces. He is predeceased by his father Michael and sister Amy Underhill.
