Canandaigua – Alvin H. Barnhart, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He is survived by five siblings, Violet Moore (fiancé, Emil Vergo), Jacqueline Garno (Dennis Aikey), Gregg Garno, Beulah Grace (Robert) Lloyd, and Dawn Morrison (husband, Josh); several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Marshall Garno.

Alvin was born in Canandaigua and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1977. He worked as a painter at Reason Painting for over 30 years, from where he retired. Alvin was a Steelers fan and enjoyed fishing, swimming, and being out. Most of all, he loved hanging out with his family and friends by a bonfire.
