William Eades

William (Bill) Eades of Albany, N.Y., Westminster, Mass. and formerly of Sun City Center, Fla., died on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his home after a long-standing illness.

Mr. Eades was born and raised in Geneva, N.Y. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Buckley Eades and Donald John Eades. He was a graduate of DeSales High School, Class of 1964. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College and his Masters Degree from Boston University. He also completed work at Russell Sage College in hospital administration. Mr. Eades served as a physical therapist in the Army, attaining the rank of Captain. He held clinical and administrative positions at several hospitals, including Geneva General Hospital, the former Leonard Hospital, Albany Memorial & St. Clare's / Ellis Hospital. He also was an adjunct professor at Russell Sage College. He retired from Ellis Hospital in 2011.

He served as president of the Northeast District of the NYS Assoc. of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He held offices of treasurer & vice president of the N.Y. Physical Therapy Assoc. Mr. Eades was also president of the Capital District Health Care Administrators, a member of the N.Y. State Board of Physical Therapy and secretary of the St. Clare's Employee Credit Union. He served on the Outings Committee of the Adirondack Mountain Club, was a licensed N.Y. State Outdoor Guide and a Certified Canoe and Kayak instructor.

At the time of his death he was a member of the Loudonville Presbyterian Church. He also attended the First Congregational Church, Westminster, Mass. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Beth-El Farmworker Ministry in Wimauma, Fla., where he regularly volunteered.

Mr. Eades is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Schatz Eades. He is also survived by two sons, Christopher (Frank Pittarese) of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jeffrey (Amy) Eades of Mountain Lakes, N.J.; one daughter, Allison (Jim) Grove of Colonie, N.Y. As well as granddaughters, Gabriella and Madeline Eades, Nora and Mia Grove. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (Vernon) Lyndaker and Jean Eades; one brother, Martin (Lorraine) Eades. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. Stephen's Church, 48 Pulteney St., Geneva. N.Y. A later interment will be held in Saratoga National Cemetery.
