William "Bill" Bushey, age 73, of Watkins Glen, NY, was born on September 16th, 1951, in Frankfort, NY, and passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2025.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald Bushey of Frankfort, NY, and his sister, Bonnie Consilio of Lafayette, Indiana. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ruth Bushey of Frankfort, NY.
Bill resided at the Watkins Glen IRA, where he was in the first group of individuals to move into the home over 45 years ago. With the help of Father K of St. Mary's Church, Bill and his peers were embraced by the community. Bill was very social and loved saying “hi” to friends, new and old. He loved Diet Coke, Burger King, Mickey Mouse, all postal workers, and above all, his staff from Watkins Glen IRA and Schuyler ARC day program, including Carol Sullivan, Pam Cicconi, Vicky Grinolds, and many, many more.
Bill was an unforgettable character; if you met him, even briefly, you would remember him. Bill was intense in the best possible way. He touched many lives and was the cornerstone of the Watkins Glen IRA. His passing leaves a hole that will never be filled.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Watkins Glen on Friday, May 16th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a service at1:00 pm
