Verna Nepa

Verna Joan Nepa passed away on March 17, at Rochester General Hospital with her children at her side.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, (March 21) from 4 p.m.to 7 p.m. at McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St., Geneva, N.Y. A funeral service will take place on Friday, (March 22) at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Geneva with a burial immediately following in Glenwood Cemetery.

Born in Geneva, New York to the late Louise and Angelo (Geege) Choffin. Verna graduated from Geneva High School and lived and worked in Geneva at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Alumni House and in Geneva City Schools until 1987 when she moved to Tampa, Florida with her husband Amedie (Woody) Nepa. After Woody's death in 1995 Verna moved back to the area and resided in Victor. Verna retired at age 82 from Victor Central Schools where she spent most of her time in the Health Office at the VEC where she thought of every child as one of her grandchildren. Verna's favorite pastime was spending time with her family and attending their sporting events and other activities. She was an avid Victor basketball fan and enjoyed going to the games.

Along with her parents and husband, Verna was predeceased by her sister Marie Lisi and her brother-in-law Robert Quigley.

Verna is survived by her children Valerie Vistocco, Lou (Lynn) Vistocco, and Mike (Debbie) Vistocco; as well as her six grandchildren Laura (Chris) Wakley, Louie (Courtney Badger) Vistocco, Stephanie Vistocco, Sarah Vistocco, Angela (Matt) Huml, David (Jennifer) Vistocco; her seven great grandchildren Ahvianna Vistocco, Graham and Eleanor Wakley, Luke, Henry, and Charlie Huml, and Camden Vistocco.

Verna is also survived by her brother Phillip (Sharon) Choffin; her sister Gloria Quigley; several nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her cousins and many many dear friends in Victor and Geneva.
