Sherry Lynn Dixon, 64, of Dundee, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her family, after a 14-year battle with illness.
Honoring her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s convenience in the spring.

Sherry was born July 31, 1961, in Montour Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Lee Leslie and Faith Inez Sisson McCann. She had a diverse career, working in housekeeping at local wineries and lodges, managing the former Gardner Sunoco in Dundee, and founding the “Dixie” Auction House on Seneca Street. She also enjoyed her time at Water St. Pharmacy and earned bus driving qualifications, which she could not fully pursue due to her illness.
Known for her sense of humor and determination, Sherry was a racecar enthusiast who loved drag racing, camping, trips to the casino, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Nicholas A. (Rosalina) Dixon of Elmira, Rachel L. (Patrick) Sipley of Dundee, and stepdaughter Tara L. (Jim) Ameigh of Watkins Glen; seven grandchildren, Marie and Aden Dixon, Adrienne and Delilah Sipley, Amber, Bradley, and Joelene Ameigh; her companion and best friend Billy Leverentz; her beloved cats, Simon and Haddy; and siblings Les (Bobbie) McCann of Hammondsport, Richard McCann of Dundee, and Karen (Bob) Marshall of Townsend, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Judy Knapp in 2025 and her uncle Dale Sisson in 2024.
