Sarah M. (Webber) Schmitt, 43, of Auburn/Central Square N.Y., passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, surrounded by her family at Auburn Hospital, after a brave and determined battle with breast cancer. Born on February 25, 1982 in Auburn, N.Y. Sarah is the daughter of Jacqueline A. Webber and the late Larry Webber who passed away three months prior to her.

Sarah leaves behind her devoted husband, Greg Schmitt, who stood by her side with unwavering love. She was the proud and loving mother to, Kayla (Shawn) Claxton of Central Square, Konner of Auburn and step-son Nathan (Caylie) Luckette of Central Square.

Her four precious grandchildren; her greatest joy, that called her "Mimi", Aydian, Leland, Tayson, and Maddox; along with her 4 step grandchildren Colton, Jackson, Sebastian, and Danny; her mother, Jacqueline A. Webber(Clarke); her sisters, Christina M. Smith and Kasey E. Webber (Michael Millimaci); and her brother, Derek J. Webber (Ashley), along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, step-mother Jackie, and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Rocky Lockhart; her former mother-in-law, Joanne Lockhart; her beloved maternal and paternal grandparents; and a cousin Colton.

Sarah lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and devotion to those she held dear. She built a life centered around family, friendship, and caring for others, which included her cherished fur babies. They will forever carry her memories in their hearts. Sarah had the rare gift of putting others before herself. She expressed her love through warm kitchens filled with baked goods, thoughtful handmade crafts, and the countless celebrations she joyfully organized for those around her. She dreamed of becoming a holistic vet and generously shared her knowledge to help families care for their beloved pets. Her heart was gentle, her spirit creative, and her presence a comfort to everyone she knew. Though her time here feels far too short, Sarah's love continues in every life she touched. Her laughter, kindness, and selfless devotion to family will remain her lasting legacy.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sarah's beautiful life will be private for close family and friends to share memories and honor the light she brought into this world.
