Raymond L. Humphries, 93, of Branchport and formerly of Marion, passed away Feb. 21, 2026.
Born in Covington, he was the son of Alvis and Margaret (Midkiff) Humphries.
Humphries and his wife, Mary, moved to Branchport in 1983, where he built their home following his retirement. A skilled contractor, he constructed hundreds of homes throughout Monroe County, including projects in Pittsford, Greece, and Rochester. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were widely recognized.
He was predeceased by his sons and daughters, Curt, Steve, Barb and Carol; and by his brothers and sisters, Lloyd, Alvis, Nancy and Clara Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes; brothers Carl and William “Randy” Humphries; sisters Margaret Ann Robson, Jane (Ken) Buss, Daisy (Paul) Ayre and Dinah Tiberio (Tim Cherry); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family extended thanks to the volunteers at Keuka Comfort Care Home for the care and compassion shown to Humphries in his final days. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the organization at P.O. Box 107, Penn Yan, or online at www.KeukaComfortCareHome.org.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to noon at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan, followed by a funeral service at noon and burial at Lake View Cemetery.
