He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on October 28, 2023, at the age of 84. Phil was the son of Owen and Doris (Figger) Phillips and was born in Ilion, N.Y. on September 19, 1939. Phil worked for many years at the American Can Company, and he was known as a property owner in Geneva, N.Y. Phil loved attending old engine shows, playing the stock market, and tinkering in his garage. He was known for his sense of humor, willingness to always lend a hand, and the giant bear hugs he was so good at giving. Survivors include his brother Ronald Phillips of Florida; son Richard Phillips of Tennessee; daughter Kathleen Notto of Florida; daughter Patricia (Vern) Gillette of Colorado; grandsons Ian Phillips and Aiden Phillips of Tennessee; longtime companion Holly Phillips of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert Phillips. At Phil's request, no funeral or services will be held. We will all hold him in our hearts, and he will be greatly missed.
