Nancy Lee Baxter
1950-2026

Nancy Lee Baxter, age 75, a resident of the Florida Keys, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, in a loving hospice care home in Tampa, Florida.

Nancy was born in Penn Yan, New York, on May 9, 1950, the daughter of the late Sidney and Helen Baxter. After high school, she attended Cortland College in New York, where she earned a degree in Physical Education.

Nancy had a long career as a real estate broker, working in Florida, California, and Hawaii. She took great pride in helping countless people find their dream homes.

Nancy was a free spirit and known for her gift of gab. She had a knack for settling in desirable destinations before they became popular, including the Florida Keys, Aspen, Colorado, Big Bear, California, and Maui. She loved opening her home to others and often served as a personal tour guide for visitors.

She was an avid photographer and a voracious reader. Nancy also enjoyed cats, puzzles, traveling, sunsets, fishing, boating, snorkeling, swimming, beaches, and flowers.

In recent years, Nancy worked with an author, sharing details about an event that occurred in Aspen, Colorado, when she served as chief dispatcher for the Aspen Police Department in the 1970s.

Nancy was predeceased by her beloved brother, Harry Baxter, and her former husband, Bill Brisbee.

Honoring her wishes, a private graveside service will be held this spring.

Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to donate to their local cat rescue shelter in Nancy’s memory.
