95-year-old Mary A. Rappleye, of Watkins Glen, passed away on November 4th. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service for Mary Rappleye will be held Wednesday at 1 at the Montour Cemetery. A reception and time to share memories will follow at the Monterey Fire Department. Arrangements are with the Royce Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.

Mary A. Rappleye, age 95, of Watkins Glen, passed away on November 4, 2023.

She was born March 27, 1928, the daughter of Clyde and Lula Wheaton. She graduated from High School in Odessa. Mary formerly worked at the A&P Plant in Horseheads and later discovered her passion for working at AIM Independent Living Center in Corning, where she enjoyed helping the elderly. Her presence brightened the lives of those around her.

Mary was predeceased by her sons James, Gary, Donald, and Kevin Rappleye; and brothers Clyde and Fred Wheaton. She is survived by her sons John (Peg) Rappleye of Monterey, Winston “Charlie” (Marlene) Rappleye of Watkins Glen; daughter-in-law Bonnie Rappleye of Watkins Glen; sister-in-law Clara Wheaton of Montour Falls; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Montour Cemetery (bottom entrance, first driveway) on Wednesday (Nov. 15th ) at 1:00 pm.
