Margaret M. (Fenner) Scale, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Clifton Springs Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

Calling hours will be held Monday, December 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street in Waterloo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In keeping with her wishes, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Waterloo or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Margaret was born August 10, 1936, in Geneva, the daughter of Floyd Anson and Gertrude Ann Fenner. She devoted much of her life to caring for others, working as a nurse’s aide at Geneva General Hospital, Clifton Springs Nursing Home, and Taylor Brown Memorial Hospital. She later worked in the jewelry department at Walmart in Waterloo, where she enjoyed seeing familiar faces.

She spent many winters in Lakeland, Florida, with her husband Frank, and was a longtime auxiliary member of VFW Post 6433 and American Legion Post 435.

Margaret is survived by her daughters Joan Smith of Newark and Lori Abraham of Oaks Corners; sons Daniel Snow of Geneva and James Snow of Phelps; stepchildren Nancy Aberman of Massachusetts, Cindy Scale of Texas, and Frances Scale of Waterloo; sisters Florence Sealy and Arlene Walsh; brother Leo “Bucky” Fenner; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Frank S. Scale; her son Michael Snow; stepson Thomas Scale; and several siblings.

Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to family, and the compassion she showed throughout her life.
