Lucinda B. “Cindy” Paddock, age 76, of Dundee, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. While flowers and food are appreciated, the family asks that attendees wait until the Celebration of Her Life, to be held in the spring on a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company or Dundee Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837.
Lucinda was born April 11, 1949, in Moriah Center, NY, the daughter of Bessie Jean Baker. Originally from the Adirondacks, she lived in numerous locations during her youth due to her family’s work. She graduated from Hammondsport High School in 1968. On June 18, 1983, twelve years after they first met, she married James E. Paddock in Dundee.
Cindy began her career with Penn Yan Boats before accepting a position with Coach and Equipment, where she retired after more than 20 years of service. She loved sewing and animals, enjoyed collecting pigs, and had a love for reading. Family and friends affectionately called her “Martha Stewart,” “Two Shoes,” and “Sweet Potato.”
She is survived by her husband of 42 years and soulmate of 54 years, James E. Paddock of Dundee; her sister, Brenda B. (Daryl) Ames of Dundee; her brother, Bruce E. Baker of Stanley, NY; her nephew, Kyle L. (Christine) Ames of Himrod, and their son, Hunter Ames; a niece, Sarah Baker of Rochester; many cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews on Jim’s side of the family. She will be especially missed by her beloved fur baby, “Catness.”
She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Bessie Jean and William Brooks.
