Luann E. McDonald, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at her home.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Saint Mary's Church, 35 Center Street, Waterloo. A funeral Mass will follow at 12 p.m., with burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery. A celebration of Lu's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to a charity of one's choice.

Born on March 11, 1954, in Waterloo, Luann was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ann (Weber) McCulloch. She devoted many years to caring for children as an in-home daycare provider, later continuing her service to the community as a bus monitor on a special needs bus for the Waterloo School District.

Luann loved the outdoors-especially her time in the Adirondacks-and treasured every moment spent with her friends and family. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her son, Michael; her daughters, Jennifer and Alyssa; her sisters, Nancy McCulloch and AnnaMae (John) Becker; her brother, Stanley (Babette) McCulloch; her sister-in-law, Rose Balistreri; along with several nieces, cousins, and many loving friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Philip "Mickey" McDonald.
