HomeObituariesLana Blowers Lana BlowersPenn Yan NY SHARE NOW Lana Marie Blowers, age 75, of Penn Yan, N.Y. went to sleep safe in the arms of her lord and savior on Sunday November 5, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Heavenly Reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (December 2), at the Barrington Community Church, 4560 Old Bath Rd. Dundee. Lana was born July 6, 1948 in Penn Yan, N.Y., the eldest daughter of the late James Edgar and Norma J. (Torrence) Knapp. She graduated from Hammondsport High School in 1967. On May 4, 1968 in the Dundee Baptist Church she married Raymond G. Blowers. While starting her family, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education K-6 from Keuka College; and continued, earning a Master Degree in Education from Endicott College. She put her education to use teaching elementary students at Dundee Central School. Mrs. Blowers was a woman of many talents, including hairdressing; being a wonderful homemaker; caregiver; and gardener. She had a love for music, art, and above all the Lord Jesus Christ; which she showed that passion by ministering and helping others. She is dearly loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 55 years Ray Blowers at home; a son Jason Richard (Chasity Smallwood) Blowers of Crittenden, Ky; three daughter's Sara Lynn Blowers of Ben Lomond, Calif., Amanda Marie Blowers of Dundee, and Raeana Lea (Jason) Tietjen of Bluff Point, N.Y.; three grandchildren Jaelea Tietjen, River Blowers, and Emma Tietjen; three sisters Carla J. (James) DeForest of Greenville, N.Y., Lori J. Knapp of Dundee, and Mia A. Clemens of Tyrone, N.Y.; sisters and brother in laws Carol (late Tom) Israel of Hammondsport, N.Y.; Carl (JoAnn) Blowers of Conroy, S.C.; Larry (Elaine) Blowers of Wichita Falls, Texas, Laura wife of the late Doug Blowers of Baltimore, Md., and Roy (Taff) of Milton, Fla.; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved Cairen Terrier 'Coda' and cats Jasper & Ginger.
