L. Russell Malloy, age 80, of Dundee, NY, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan, NY.
Honoring his specific wishes, there will be no calling hours or public service. He will be buried in Hillside Cemetery in Dundee with a private family graveside service. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may consider Ontario-Yates County Hospice Association, 756 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456, or the Keuka Comfort Care Home, P.O. Russell, as he preferred to be known, was born March 14, 1945, in the village of Bath, NY, one of two sons of the late Charles W. and Irene Shirley (DeCamp) Malloy. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1964, having enjoyed playing football and being a member of Future Farmers of America. On March 26, 1977, in the Wayne Baptist Church, he married the former Sally A. Potter. A farmer all his life, he owned and operated with the help of his son, the Malloy Dairy Farm. They gave up the dairy part five years ago to concentrate on agricultural farming. When ‘Russ’ was not working the land, milking cows, or doing any of the other chores on the farm, he enjoyed riding snowmobiles in the winter and his 4x4 when there wasn’t snow. He satisfied his tractor addiction with die-cast tractors and had a hat collection for any occasion.
Russell will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Sally A. Malloy at home; a son Jason C. Malloy also at home; a daughter Amy S. (James) Andersen of Canandaigua, NY; and their children Matthew and Sarah Andersen; a brother Larry Malloy of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
