Reverend King Lewis Sr. of Lyons, New York, transitioned into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by family; granddaughter Kiera Logins; daughter Michelle Logins; sisters Evangelist Joyce Rufus, Evangelist Katie Potter, Florine Drayton; and spiritual daughter Dr Cynthia Rumph Anderson, at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was born August 8, 1943, a native of Panama City, Florida.
He was known for his vibrant spirit and dedication to his family and community, volunteering at events with his fellow Rotarians, and/or church auxiliaries. He is survived by his children, Michelle Logins and King Lewis Jr.; his grandchildren, Kiera and Shamar Logins; his great-grandchildren, Genesis and Jeremy Logins-Thompson, Emma and Emery Logins; his sister, Fannie (Bobby) Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. Lewis Jr. and Fannie Mae Lewis; wife, Carolyn Mae Lewis; sister, Dollie Baker; and brother, James Lewis.
He was a faithful pastor, choir member, and recipient of the Most Outstanding Resident in the town of Lyons, N.Y. To him, the size of the church or the congregation was unimportant. His uttermost concern was the trumpeting of God's truth. He believed that his Biblical knowledge would stand him in good stead whenever the storms of life raged. He was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will always be remembered for his vibrant personality, heart of gold, love for God, and love for those around him. He will be missed every day, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. Many are saddened but joyful. Farewell, dear servant. We hear you declaring, "Do not question, dear ones. Remember that the 'hows' belong to God" We will see you again.
