Keith Wayne McKenney
1944-2025

Keith Wayne McKenney, age 80, of Burdett, NY, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on January 16, 2025.

He was born on July 30, 1944, in Gardner, Maine to Freda and Carroll McKenney. Keith was raised a country boy, milking cows and spitting wood. Later he joined the U.S. Army assigned to 3rd Inf. Div. He served overseas in Germany and Vietnam from 1962-1971, earning 2 Bronze stars for his actions. Keith's trades were Auto Mechanic, Blackseal Boiler Engineer, and Locksmith.

Keith is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Elena (Landon) McKenney; his sister, Jenny Raciti, his aunt Cathy Green, brother-in-law, Nelson Shinn and sister-in-law, Lucille McKenney; his children, Peter (Dani), Kristine and Kelly; six grandchildren, Scott, Nick, Matthew, Eric, Shane, and Jaxon; and 2 great-grandchildren, Madison and Kiernan. Also, Skyler and Avery Graves.

Keith was predeceased by his parents, Freda and Carroll McKenney, brothers, Gene, Tyrone and Gary McKenney, and sister Fayre Shinn.

Keith would always playfully say, "Don't take no wooden nickels!" He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Private services were held at the funeral home and officiated by a personal friend, Rev. Judy White Wunder. He will be interred with military honors at B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrights Town, NJ in the spring.
