Julia Rouse

Julia "Judy" Louise Rouse, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday (August 31, 2024) after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. She died exactly one month after her husband died. Anyone who knew them knew she couldn't be without him for very long. Their lifelong love story is an incredible example of love and commitment.

A graveside service for Judy and Richard will be 11 a.m. Saturday (September 28) in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, N.Y. 13165.

Judy was born January 11, 1942 in Geneva, N.Y., the daughter of Elwood M. and Esther L. Thorpe Clark. She was a 1960 graduate of Waterloo High School and graduated from the University of Rochester School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1963. Judy worked as an operating room supervisor, and retired after 40 plus years of nursing from Geneva General Hospital. She married the love of her life, Richard Rouse, on December 5, 1964. During her retirement, she enjoyed round and square dancing with Richard and traveling in their RV out west. They spent winters at Olde Mill Stream in Umatilla, Florida. She loved making quilts and spending time with her family. She made wonderful pies and cookies for friends and family.

Judy is survived by her son Eric (Teresa) Rouse of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; daughter Jennifer (Thomas) Spina of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and grandchildren Ethan Rouse, Seth Rouse, Jacob (Shannon) Spina and Sarah (Miles) Spina Roberson.

She was predeceased by loving husband, Richard, July 31, 2024 and her parents.

The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to Pam and Dawn for their loving care of both parents during this past year.
