Ida Dardano, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday (September 7, 2024) at Webster Comfort Care Home with her family at her side.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (September 15) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday (September 16) at 10 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Church, 130 Exchange Street, Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Geneva, N.Y.
Ida was born on December 20, 1937 in Taverna-Cantanzarro, Italy and was the daughter of the late Antoinetta (Vitale) and Salvatore Fratto. In 1963, Ida and Saverio came to the States to find work and start a new life, leaving their families behind. Putting their hard work ethic behind everything they did, they prospered and enjoyed family and friends during their 57 years of marriage in Geneva N.Y. Ida found her calling which was to provide daycare services to dozens of children in her loving home for over 20 years. Upon retirement, she spent her days caring for her grandchildren and sharing her excellent cooking skills by helping her son at his restaurants.
Ida is remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and an adored aunt and friend. To know Ida was to love her.
She is survived by son Dominick (Bobbie) Dardano of Victor; daughter Anna (Scott) Mulcahy of Webster; four grandchildren: Jackson and Alexander Mulcahy, Dominick and Rocco Dardano; and many nieces and nephews.
Ida is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Saverio Dardano; sisters: Carmella, Anna both of Italy and Rosa Gentile formerly of Geneva; brothers: Carmen, Salvatore and Clemente Fratto.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Road, Webster, N.Y. 14580 in Ida's memory, where she received exceptional and compassionate care during her final days.
