Gary Taylor

Sunrise September 21, 1945 - Sunset June 20, 2024. With great sadness, we announce the passing of Gary Taylor. He passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife, Sandra Verbridge.

Gary was an engineer who worked for Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, designing nuclear reactors for the US Navy. He retired in 2001 so that he could enjoy life to the fullest. Gary became a snowbird so that he could enjoy the beaches during the winter months. For 58 years, Gary's passion was golf. He was an accomplished golfer and had four hole-in-ones. He played on over 100 different golf courses, spanning from Maine to Florida. He was also a member of ACBL, achieving the rank of Bronze Life Master. There was not a sudoku puzzle that Gary could not solve!

Gary was predeceased by his parents, George Knabb and Ruth M (Kern) Taylor; and his sister, Janet, from Pawtucket, RI.

In addition to his wife, whom he adored, he is survived by his children, Bradley and Colleen; five grandchildren; two step-children; and five step-grandchildren.

In life and after death, Gary continued to show his giving heart when he made an anatomical gift to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y.

He will be forever missed by his devoted wife, Sandra, who was by his side throughout his entire battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, (July 11), from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R.A. Patrick Funeral Home, 26 W. Main St.. Clifton Springs, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, Gary requested donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. www.T2T.org
