
Frank W. Wilkes, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully Thursday May 1, 2025 at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, N.Y.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday June 11, 2025 at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, N.Y. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huntington Living Center, 369 E. Main St., Waterloo, N.Y., 13165.
Frank was born April 17, 1936 in Seneca Falls, N.Y., the son of Frank W., Sr. and Eleanor Shelard Wilkes. He was a 1954 graduate of Mynderse Academy. Frank was a U.S. Army Veteran, went on to work as a machinist at the American Can Co., in Geneva, N.Y. for 30 years where he retired. He also worked for a short time at the Seneca Army Depot. Frank was a member of TOPS, and a volunteer for the North Seneca Ambulance and the Seneca Co. Sheriff's Department. He was an avid camper throughout his life.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Doris C. Wilkes of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; children David (Lori) Wilkes, Susan Cooper, and Sandra Bajdas of Geneva, N.Y.; grandchildren Alyssa (Will McClaster) Berry, Andrew Long, Colin (Marli) Cooper, Bryan (Sarah) Cooper, Haley (Chris) Merkle, and Alex Wilkes; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers Louis and Robert Wilkes.
