Frank J. Francisco
1938-2026

Frank J. Francisco, 87, passed away March 1, 2026, in Penn Yan. He was born July 1, 1938, in Newton, to the late Henry J. and Marie (Buth) Francisco. He graduated from Newton High School and SUNY Delhi.

Frank spent his life in dairy farming, beginning on the family farm in New Jersey. After selling the farm and dairy in 1980, he moved to Penn Yan and in 1981 purchased a farm and cattle, continuing to build his Registered Andfar Holsteins herd. After dispersing the herd and selling the farm in 1992, he remained active in the dairy industry, working as a sales representative for Taurus-Service. He enjoyed working closely with colleagues and cattle breeders and traveled extensively throughout central and western New York until retiring at age 80.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed pheasant hunting with his English Setters and, in later years, annual deer hunting trips with close friends in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, loved gardening, and took particular pride in raising Silver King sweet corn and sharing his abundant apple harvests with family and friends.

He was a communicant of Milo Center United Methodist Church.

Frank is survived by his wife, Linda, whom he married in 1987; his daughters, Lisa (Adam) Sonnen of Millville, Pennsylvania, and Yvette (Steve) Hill of Apalachin, New York; granddaughter Cierra Sonnen; and his brother, William (Jeanne) Francisco of Beaufort, South Carolina. He is also survived by stepdaughters Charlene (David) DeMarco of Penn Yan and Deanna (Richard) Curren of Horseheads, New York. He proudly answered to “Grampie” or “Papa” to Nicholas Curren, Anthony (Noelle) Curren, Mikayla (Luca Masia) Curren, and Caiden DeMarco, and to great-granddaughter Lucinda Curren.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Marie Cotton.
