Dennis Landis

Dennis "Denny" Blank Landis, age 70, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 8, 2025, at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, N.Y.

The Celebration of Life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 29 at Seneca Community Church, 5738 NY-96, Romulus, N.Y. 14541. Pastor Dave Spencer, lead pastor of the church, will be officiating. Visitation time with the family will be available following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Denny requested that all memorial contributions be made to either Healthy Niños Honduras, P.O. Box 53, East Greenville, PA, 18041, or Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, N.Y., 13148.

Denny was born April 30th, 1955 in Sellersville, PA, the third son of Vincent and Elizabeth "Betty" Landis. He graduated in 1973 from Upper Perkiomen High School in Red Hill, PA, and after looking into and trying out various career choices, he settled on farming and moved to N.Y. to establish a farm and his family. Denny had been raised on a farm, and although there were parts he disliked, being a farmer was his passion. He also worked as a mechanic for the Seneca County Highway Dept. in Romulus, N.Y. for many years before retiring in 2016.

Denny was a founding member of Seneca Community Church in Romulus, N.Y., where he served in various capacities and remained an active participant right up to his passing. As a man of faith, Denny had a heart for serving God and others, which he showed by working in various ministries both here in the states and in Honduras. He travelled to Honduras more than 10 times for service projects with his church and family. Denny always had time to help a friend or a neighbor in need, and would often drop everything to be of aid to those who needed it. He was the first person that many people would call if they needed help with a car or any kind of equipment, and as a problem solver with a servant's heart, Denny was happy to help without asking for anything in return. His ideal vacation was visiting his brother's cabin in Dushore, where he could spend time with family, go for rides on four-wheelers (sometimes a little too fast!), mow the grass, and help maintain the property.

Family was the highlight of Denny's life. He loved his family dearly, and was proud of each and every one of his children and grandchildren. He was fondly known as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren, and he would gladly drive long distances for a ball game, a birthday party, or even just a meal so he could be with them and support them. Whether he was holding a baby, reading to a toddler, working on a four-wheeler, or talking about trucks, Denny loved every moment he got with his grandchildren. His quiet sense of humor, his loving heart, and his acts of service will be remembered for years to come.

Denny is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Angel Marie Landis of Varick, N.Y.; children Amanda (Herman) Sagastume of Pennsburg, PA, Tara (Bill) Trego of Harrisburg, PA, Zach (Loralee) Landis of Corfu, N.Y., Nathan (Heather) Landis of Brighton, N.Y., Ashley (Kevin) May of Rockwell, NC and Leah (Ethan) Horton of Romulus, N.Y.; grandchildren Brendan, Diego, Marissa, Jane, Evelyn, Lincoln, Eva, Roman, Eli, Jack, Jake, Jordy, and Finley; siblings James (Nina) Landis of E. Greenville, PA, Kenneth (Carol) Landis of Barto, PA, Gerald Landis of Schwenksville, PA and Brian (Susan) Landis of E. Greenville, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; his first wife Eva Jane Landis in 1997; his sister-in-law Patti Landis; and his nephew Chad Landis.
