Dana will be remembered for the many ways he found joy in the outdoors and shared it with those he loved. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter, finding peace and purpose in early mornings and quiet fields. That same patience and attention to detail carried on to his lifelong pride in lawncare. His yard was always meticulously kept, a reflection of his perfectionist nature and steady work ethic.
In his later years, some of his happiest moments were spent fishing with his grandkids, teaching them not just how to bait a hook or wait for a bite, but how to appreciate time together. These moments were often filled with his boisterous humor and well-timed jokes delivered with a smile that made everyone at ease. He was also a devoted “gardening” hobbyist, tending to his plants with care and pride, finding satisfaction in watching things grow under his hands.
Family and friends are invited to Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. funeral service to follow.
