Bruce A. Moore, Jr., age 47 of Geneva passed away unexpectedly on Thursday December 18, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St., Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral Home. Rev. Colin Pritchard will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Geneva General Hospital Dialysis Unit, 196 North St., Geneva, N.Y., 14456.
BJ was born on April 30, 1978 in Geneva the son of Bruce A. and Grace (McLaughlin) Moore, Sr. He graduated from Geneva High School Class of 1997 and Finger Lakes Community College.
BJ was an avid outdoorsman, going on hunting trips to Wyoming and Colorado with his father, fishing on the Finger Lakes, and camping in the Adirondacks. BJ was a kind and caring man that devoted his life to helping others in their worst moments. Following in his father's footsteps, BJ was a firefighter for much of his adult life. He then made a career out of his love for being a first responder and worked for the Ontario County Sheriff's Office as a 911 dispatcher for nearly 20 years.
He was also a loving husband for 20 years and an amazing father to his son. He was willing to do the craziest things for love, like trekking across the ocean to climb an Icelandic glacier, or the other side of Watkins Glen to cuddle cows. There wasn't much he wouldn't do for his family.
When he wasn't working, he was teaching his son how to work the tractor, drive 4 wheelers, and shoot rifles. If they weren't outside together, they were inside yelling at the TV during a Bills game or the post game highlights. At quiet times during the day, he would spend it cuddling with his 4-legged fur babies, Wesson, Tasha, and Benny. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; son, Collin; mother, Grace Moore; mother-in-law, Uva (Jim Newville) Davis; brother-in-law's, Jeff Luongo and Scott Reyome; sister-in-law, Angela Davis; nephews, Nicholas (Beatriz) Luongo and Tyler Reyome; nieces, Hailey Luongo and Kamryn (Gavin) Mott; many dear colleagues and friends.
Bj was predeceased by his father, Bruce Moore, Sr.; sister Loraine Luongo.
