Betty Jean "Babe" Ferraro, age 89, of Geneva, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, N.Y. on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Lori Nickoloff, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Penn Yan officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Northside Fire Department or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Penn Yan.
Babe was born in Penn Yan and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was the daughter of the late Chris and Edna Petersen Pedersen. Babe was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy Class of 1953. She formerly worked at the Seneca Army Depot and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Geneva Country Club, the Penn Yan Moose Club, and the Sons & Daughters of Italy in Geneva. Babe was an avid Syracuse basketball fan, Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana (Jim) Loree of Geneva; her sister, Alice Pedersen of Penn Yan; and her granddaughter, Rachel Cohrs of Geneva; her nieces and nephews, Chris Petersen, Kenna Fischer and Mike Pedersen; several Ferraro nieces and nephews, and many cousin and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas A. Ferraro; her brother, Howard Pedersen; and her sister, Phyllis Petersen.
