Anna DeMaria

Anna DeMaria, of Geneva, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the beautiful age of 102 surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born on August 13, 1922 in New York City. The daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosolia (Persechina) Arichiello.

As an identical twin, she shared an unbreakable bond with her sister, Rosaria "Sadie" Cintineo, who recently preceded her in passing on November 21, 2024. Their lives were intertwined in every way, from childhood adventures, unwavering support for one another, and their fashionable matching outfits. They were not just sisters, but best friends, and two halves of a whole.

In 1941, Anna graduated high school from Julia Richman High School in Manhattan, NY and started her career at Crum and Forster Insurance.

In 1950, Anna married the love of her life and beloved husband, Carmen L. DeMaria, a decorated WWII veteran. After settling in Geneva, NY and starting their family, Anna worked at McCurdy's dazzling customers with her keen eye for fashion and love of jewelry.

She was a member of St. Francis deSales Church, Geneva Women's Club, The Red Hat Society, Sons and Daughters of Italy, Geneva American Legion Post 396 Auxiliary, and Geneva Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Louis) McGuigan of Geneva and Louis DeMaria of Guam; grandchildren, Joshua McGuigan of Dover, NH, Jessica McGuigan of Geneva and Kevin McGuigan of Geneva; great-grandson, Mason; sister-in-law, Mildred Pettrone of Geneva; several nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Carmen L. DeMaria; brother, Angelo Arichiello; identical twin sister, Rosaria "Sadie" Cintineo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (Jan. 24th) with prayers at 12:00 p.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
