Earlier this year, Democrat Rachel May became the state senator for New York’s 48th district which consists of all of Cayuga and part of Onondaga County.
One Republican has already announced his plans to run against her.
Caleb Slater told Finger Lakes News Radio what made him decide to run.
Slater will seek to run on both the Republican and Conservative lines.
