Supreme Court Declines to Block NYS Gun Laws

SHARE NOW

New York State’s concealed carry gun law has survived another legal challenge.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to block a number of firearm dealer laws and provisions of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act that were challenged in November. As a result of the decision, the full Act continues to be in effect.

The decision came one week after the Supreme Court’s ruling to uphold a stay issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

The Concealed Carry Improvement Act took effect in September after the nation’s highest court struck down the state’s previous century-old concealed carry law.
