The Keuka College women’s golf team hosted its fall invitational on Wednesday at Lakeside Country Club, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 452.
Freshman Jaeda Robinson (Syracuse, N.Y. / Jamesville-Dewitt) led the way for the Wolves, carding a career-low 85 to tie for second place in just her second collegiate event. Robinson’s round included nine pars and a birdie. Her 85 also matched the eighth-best single round in program history.
Sophomore Olivia Hatch (Elmira, N.Y. / Horseheads) also earned a top-10 finish, shooting a career-best 91 to place seventh in the 23-player field. Hatch birdied the par-three 17th and notched the fourth top-10 finish of her career, moving her into sole possession of seventh place on Keuka’s all-time list for career wins against the field.
Andriea Tiffany (Deposit, N.Y. / Deposit) and Kai Rivera (Rochester, N.Y. / Irondequoit) rounded out Keuka’s scoring. Tiffany recorded a new career-low round to place 22nd, while Rivera tied her career low to finish 23rd.
Led by senior Caroline Gannon’s top 5 finish, the William Smith golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a third-place finish in the Keuka Fall Invitational. Gannon shot an 86 on the par 72 layout, six shots off the lead and just one shot out of second place. She was also one shot off of her career best round. First-year Maggie McCarthy carded her low round of the season, finishing 13th out of 23 golfers. Classmate Samantha Murray also earned a top 20 finish, tying for 16th place.
Nazareth’s Bethany Wineburg was the individual medalist, posting an 80. The Golden Flyers took the team title by 20 shots over second-place Utica. William Smith was 32 shots behind the Pioneers and 46 shots ahead of fourth-place Keuka.
The Wolves will return to Lakeside Country Club on Sunday to host SUNY Geneseo in a dual match.
