The Keuka College Men’s Lacrosse team lost at home on Saturday to Russell Sage College 19-11 in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Mitchell Wise (Greece, N.Y. / Hilton) led Keuka College (3-8, 0-5 Empire 8) with four goals on the afternoon. Kaleb Glessing (Ontario, N.Y. / Wayne) and Logan Crannell (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) each added a pair of goals for the Wolves.

The Gators took the lead 52 seconds into the game on Saturday, but Keuka College responded. Mitchell Wise opened the scoring for the Wolves to level the game. The visitors answered back with a pair, but Logan Crannell scored for the Wolves to cut the deficit to one at 3-2. However, Russell Sage scored the final three goals of the quarter to lead 6-2 after one.

The run continued for Sage as they scored the first four goals of the second quarter, with the final three coming on the man-up, to build a 10-2 advantage. The Wolves took advantage of their extra-man opportunity to snap the run. Harrison Root (Jefferson, N.J. / Jefferson Township) earned the assist as Mitchell Wise scored on the man-up with 6:49 left in the half. The pace slowed for both teams. Russell Sage snuck in a goal on the man-down with 48 seconds left in the half to lead 11-3 at the break.

The third quarter was all Gators as Russell Sage outscored Keuka College 7-1 in the frame. The lone goal for Keuka came midway through the third with the long-pole Logan McMurtry (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili) getting the tally. Russell Sage led 18-4 going into the fourth.

The Wolves flipped it on the Gators in the fourth as Keuka outscored the visitors 7-1 in the final quarter. Kaleb Glessing opened the scoring for the Wolves, but Sage answered. Keuka closed the game with six straight goals. Wise completed the hat trick followed by Logan Crannell’s second. Cole Davis (Brockport, N.Y. / Brockport) won the ensuing faceoff and quickly went down the field. He dished it off to Wise on the left wing who scored just five seconds after Crannell’s goal. Harrison Root, Kaleb Glessing, and Austin Holsclaw (Queensbury, N.Y. / Queensbury) closed the scoring, but the Wolves would fall to the Gators 19-11.
