2025 Inductees:

Coach Harry Queener: A cornerstone of Penn Yan lacrosse, Coach Queener began his coaching career in 1985 and has been instrumental in building one of New York’s premier lacrosse programs. As head coach, he led the 2001 Mustangs to their first New York State Championship, and in 2025, as an assistant coach, helped guide the team to another state title. He also contributed to the girls lacrosse program, alongside his wife, Head Coach Patty Queener. A member of the Upstate New York Chapter of the Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Coach Queener helped build a legacy of success through his dedication and commitment to the sport of lacrosse and the Penn Yan program.

• 1977 Girls Cross Country Team: Undefeated in dual meets with an 11–0 record, the 1977 team, led by Hall of Fame coach Tom Smart, won the Haverling, Hornell, and Waterloo Invitationals, as well as the Finger Lakes League and Section V Championships. They capped the season with a 4th-place finish at the New York State Class B Championship Meet. Each athlete on this team played a critical role in one of the most successful cross country campaigns in school history, setting a high bar for excellence, teamwork, and Mustang spirit.

2001 Boys Lacrosse State Championship Team: Coached by Harry Queener and Brian Hobart, the 2001 team claimed the school’s first New York State Championship in boys lacrosse. After defeating Geneva 15–2 in the Sectional final, they capped their season with a victory over powerhouse Manhasset in the state championship game. Known for their grit and determination, the roster included several future Division I collegiate athletes and helped cement Penn Yan’s place among the state’s elite lacrosse programs.

Pat Chapman – Class of 1968: A gifted three-sport athlete, Chapman excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. He was a member of the 1967 league-champion football team, the starting shortstop in baseball, and a key player on the 1968 Section V Class A Championship basketball team, where he earned MVP honors for the sectional tournament. His induction reflects not only his athletic achievements but also the integrity and competitive spirit he brought to every sport.

About the Penn Yan Academy Athletic Hall of Fame:  Established in 2011, the Penn Yan Academy Athletic Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have made significant contributions to the school’s athletic success and legacy. Inductees are chosen for their athletic accomplishments, character, and positive impact on the Penn Yan community.
