Keuka College junior guard Akinlana Popoola (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) was named to the 2024-25 USBWA Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams, being selected as a First Team honoree by the Rochester Chapter of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
In his first season at Keuka College, Popoola had the best of his career. He scored 376 points to lead the Wolves, nearly doubling his total from his first two seasons of collegiate basketball. His 15.7 points per game led the Wolves and tied for sixth in the Empire 8 Conference.
Popoola also was one of the best three-point shooters in the area. He shot 45.7 percent from three. That was the best in the conference and also top amongst the honorees by the USBWA. He placed in the top ten in program history with 53 made threes and his shooting percentage was fifth-best in a season in program history.
Popoola’s selection continued a run for the Wolves with a First Team selection in each of the last four seasons.
