Keuka College senior Carlos Fantauzzi (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) was named Empire 8 Baseball Co-Player of the Week on Monday.
Fantauzzi had a big end to the season, recording a hit in all five games for the Wolves while Keuka College went 4-1 on the week. For the week, Fantauzzi hit .526 for Keuka College with 10 hits. He also added five runs scored and six runs driven in.
Fantauzzi finished his career on a 12-game hitting streak for the Wolves and closed with 51 hits on the season, tied for second-best in program history and ranked fifth in the conference. He also ranked ninth in the conference in batting average and runs batted in.
For his career, Fantauzzi drove in 71 runs in his 66 career games. He sits in a tie for fourth on the career RBI list, playing just two seasons at Keuka College. He also stole 26 bases for the Wolves, tying for second-most in program history.
