It was a record-setting week for Brooke Bonetti (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Academy), and her outstanding play was recognized by being named Empire 8 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Her week began on Wednesday as the Wolves earned a tight 11-10 victory at home against Alfred State College. In it, Bonetti scored a then season-high six goals to lead the Wolves. She then blew that performance out of the water on Saturday. Bonetti scored a school-record 11 goals as Keuka College earned the 19-9 Empire 8 Conference victory at SUNY Poly. The 11 goals topped the old record of nine set in the 2019 season.
On the year, Bonetti leads the Empire 8 and ranks sixth in NCAA Division III with 5.33 goals per game. She has 32 goals this season after scoring 45 combined over her first three seasons on campus. It is also already the most scored in a season by a player at Keuka College in the last five seasons.
The Wolves will continue their Empire 8 slate with a pair of games this week. The Green and Gold will play at Alfred University on Wednesday. Keuka College will then return home and face Utica University on Saturday afternoon.
