Keuka College Women’s Basketball first-year forward Emilee Bacon of Buffalo (Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) has been named the Empire 8 Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Bacon started the weekend strong, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor for nine points on Friday against Russell Sage College. She also made a significant impact on defense and the boards, tying her season-high with 12 rebounds and setting a career-high with four blocks in the win.
She followed that performance with a season-high 12 points on Saturday in Keuka’s conference victory over Hartwick College.
For the season, Bacon is averaging 5.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She also has 11 blocks, the second-most on the team, ranking her among the top ten in the Empire 8 Conference.
The Wolves continue a busy week of conference play, beginning at home on Tuesday against SUNY Brockport. They then travel to Nazareth University on Friday and St. John Fisher University on Saturday.
